CADÍZ

¡DE CAÍ PICHA!

This city will forever hold a special place in my heart. When I was 16, I spent just under a year in Cadíz, as an exchange student. I lived there, loved there, and met some incredible friends along the way.

I have had the opportunity to send people there and return, myself, throughout the last 15+ years.

So, without further ado, here’s a bit about one of my personal favorite small cities in the world!

Cadíz is a small city on the Southern Coast of Spain.

it has plenty to offer and makes a great day-trip.

In the more modern area of the city, we recommend wandering along the beach and popping into the string of restaurants along the way.

In Old Town Cadiz, we recommend our walking tour, or a guided walking tour.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

ANNUAL EVENT

CARNAVAL DE CADÍZ

My favorite week of the year.

Gaditanos, or people from Cadiz, are famous for their love of a good party! Every year, tens of thousands of people pack the streets of Cadíz for this week-long celebration.

On the night of the biggest party, head to old town, where all the festivities take place throughout the week. The streets will be packed with everyone in costume, drinking laughing dancing singing and having a grand old time.

Bring your own bottles, mixers, and plastic cups to drink from in a bag, no glass. Everyone else will have them too! Have a drink and dance, throw your head back and yell, “¡DE CAÍ, PICHA!”
